Our Mission is to unlock opportunity for Kenya's poorest residents, county by county, by ensuring everyone has clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene - forever.
Most residents live in rural communities and spend hours every day walking to collect dirty water or finding a safe place to relieve themselves. Dirty water and poor hygiene spread diseases meaning even more time is lost to sickness that could have been used to learn and earn.
Most people in Bomet don't go to work in an office each day. They get by using their land to grow what they can and by selling anything extra they have at the market. Unexpected knocks like paying for medical bills, losing time working their land and not being able to look after their animals can be the difference between barely getting by and having the opportunity to invest a little extra in a better future.
Grades matter, they determine whether a child progresses to Secondary School or whether their education is cut short at thirteen. Bright children from poor backgrounds don't get the opportunity to reach their potential because they miss the most school through illness and poor hygiene. This cycle can keep families locked in poverty for generations.
